Clean Room Systems
Composite Aluminium Honeycomb is a lightweight core material offering excellent strength and corrosion resistance for cleanroom panel applications. Composite aluminium sandwich panels otherwise known as aluminium composite panels are generally made of an aluminium honeycomb core bonded with two skins of high-pressure laminate or aluminium. These panels are normally used in walls, doors, floors, and ceilings of cleanrooms.
Cleanroom applications require panels that can be washed continuously without breaking down. They also require architectural finishes which can withstand repeated cleaning and sanitisation with various chemicals to resist microbial and fungal growth.
Aluminium honeycomb panels are the most popular wall panels chosen for controlled environments and cleanrooms because they can serve the purpose effectively. They are non-outgassing, non-particle shedding, and anti-static as well as lightweight and non-combustible. They also have a resistance to chemicals.
ADVANTAGES
- Aluminium honeycomb cleanroom panels are non-shedding. Unlike aluminium honeycomb panels, if other types of panels are pierced or broken, they can release spores into the cleanroom environment. This may lead to the cleanroom being shut down to be properly cleaned, have the air system filtered and then revalidated.
- Aluminium honeycomb panels have a better resistance to damage due to their high crush strength and are also easier to repair. They can simply be filled whereas other panels may need to be completely replaced.
- Composite wall and ceiling panels do not support the growth of mould, mildew, and microbes. These panels withstand repeated cleaning and sanitising with various chemicals to resist microbial and fungal growth.
- The aluminium honeycomb provides a more consistent, superior strength and increased stability throughout the whole panel. Also, the lightweight properties of aluminium honeycomb panels can reduce the cost of transport and potentially the amount of labour required. Because of the lightweight and high strength of the panels, architects and designers have the freedom to manoeuvre the material as they wish.
- Because they are manufactured and prefabricated to size and specification, they reduce cutting and installation time. Also, composite aluminium panelling makes for easier, safer, and more secure installation.
